What an SEO strategy includes

An SEO strategy is not a to-do list but a coherent roadmap: it starts with a status assessment, moves through keyword and intent analysis to URL and page structure, and results in prioritised actions with clear milestones. Each building block builds on the previous one.

The 5 building blocks of an SEO strategy Each step builds on the previous one and leads to a roadmap with milestones. 1 Status assessment Rankings, visibility, technical health. 2 Keyword & intent analysis Which search terms drive your business. 3 URL & page structure Which pages you need and how they connect. 4 Prioritised actions Sorted by effort and impact. 5 Roadmap with milestones Month 1, month 3, measurable progress. viktorpasztor.de · SEO strategy

What you’ll hold in your hands at the end

01

Status assessment

Where do you stand today? Rankings, visibility, technical health, strengths and weak spots of your website.

02

Keyword & intent analysis

Which search terms drive your business and what intent lies behind them.

03

URL & page structure

Which pages you need, which ones should be merged, and how everything connects logically.

04

Prioritised actions & roadmap

Technical SEO, on-page, content and off-page — sorted by effort and impact, with milestones for the months ahead.

“We’re already doing SEO — why do we need a strategy now?”

A fair objection I hear often. My counter-question: can you say why the current task matters more than the three left waiting? If yes, you already have a strategy — then you don’t need me. If no, you’re probably working on whatever catches your eye, not on what moves the needle most. That’s exactly what ends up costing more than the strategy itself: months of work that barely shifts your rankings. A strategy doesn’t replace the SEO you’re doing — it puts it in order.

“Almost everyone has received a list of SEO measures at some point. Real prioritisation is something else: it tells you what to do first, what can wait — and what to deliberately leave out. Most projects don’t fail for lack of knowledge, they fail on sequencing.”

— Viktor Pásztor, SEO freelancer

The SEO strategy is the overarching roadmap — I also offer individual building blocks from it as standalone services. The content strategy plans topic clusters and an editorial calendar in detail, while keyword research provides the data foundation. The SEO strategy adds technical SEO, on-page prioritisation and the overall timeline to both. You’ll find a transparent cost overview under SEO costs. And you can read who’s behind all this on the about mepage.

Concrete numbers, not “price on request”.

from €100 per hour
Typically 15–30 hours per project · Ongoing support from €1,000/month · Free initial consultation · SEO costs · About me

Depending on the size of your website and your competitive landscape, a complete SEO strategy usually takes between 15 and 30 hours; I’ll give you a concrete estimate after the initial consultation, before you commit.

  • Website size: More pages and more competition mean more analysis work.
  • Implementation optional: If you’d like me to implement the strategy afterwards, I take over ongoing support from €1,000 per month.
  • Final prices: My prices are final prices — €100 means €100.

Signs you’re missing an SEO strategy

Isolated measures without a common thread

You’re already doing SEO — a blog post here, a plugin there — but the thread connecting it all is missing.

Unclear which lever comes first

You know something has to happen, but not whether tech, content or structure comes first.

Competitors pulling ahead

Despite noticeable investment of time and money, you’re losing ground in the rankings.

Budget without prioritisation

You’ve set a budget, but lack clarity on where it will have the greatest impact.

SEO strategy FAQ

What’s the difference between an SEO strategy and a content strategy?

The content strategy answers one question: which content do you need, in what order? The SEO strategy is broader — it also covers technology, site structure, on-page prioritisation and the overall roadmap. The content strategy is one building block within it.

Do I also need separate keyword research?

No. A keyword analysis is an integral part of the SEO strategy. You book keyword research as a standalone service when you only need the data foundation and plan the rest yourself.

How quickly does an SEO strategy take effect?

The strategy itself doesn’t move rankings — implementation does. Realistically, you’ll see the first measurable effects three to six months after implementation starts, depending on your starting point and competition. That’s why the roadmap includes milestones for tracking progress.

Can I implement the strategy without you?

Yes — that’s exactly what it’s made for. The document is concrete enough for your team or another provider to work with directly. The strategy doesn’t tie you to anything.
