SEO keywords: keyword research for your website

After the research you’ll know which SEO keywords can bring you customers – and which page should serve which term. Not a raw list from a tool, but a curated foundation: clustered by search intent, each cluster assigned a URL, cannibalization flagged before it costs you texts. The data comes from Ahrefs, Semrush and your own Google Search Console.

Why a raw list is not keyword research

A tool export with thousands of rows is not a decision. I gather search volume and competition with Ahrefs and Semrush, cross-check them against your Google Search Console, cluster by search intent instead of word similarity, and assign each cluster a target URL – existing or to be created. Cannibalization is uncovered before a text gets written for it.

What you get

01

Curated document

Every keyword group with search volume, search intent and a clear assignment: this term belongs on this page.

02

Missing pages named

The list of pages still missing – before you invest in the wrong structure.

03

Cannibalization uncovered

The cases where existing pages stand in each other’s way, clearly named.

04

Traps sorted out

What I deliberately don’t recommend: high search volume with the wrong intent is a find that becomes a trap.

The objection: “surely a tool can do that”

Tools deliver lists, not decisions. Semrush tells you how often a term is searched – but not whether it deserves a category page, a guide, or nothing at all. A tool also doesn’t notice that two of your pages block each other. That’s in your Search Console – if you know where to look. Exactly this assignment is the work.

“I manage around 15 client projects in parallel, mostly e-commerce and B2B. The most expensive mistake I see there is rarely a bad text. It’s the good text for the wrong term on the wrong page.”

— Viktor Pásztor, freelance SEO consultant

Keyword research ends with the assignment. Writing the texts is a separate service – you’ll find it under SEO copywriting. If existing pages need reworking, that belongs to on-page optimization. And if you don’t yet know where your website stands at all, an SEO audit is the better entry point.

Concrete billing, not “on request”.

One invoice, one hourly rate, no packages with fine print. All content and access belongs to you, even after the project.

  • Size of your topic field: the more products or services, the more clusters.
  • Competitive density: how contested the terms in your market are.
  • Data situation: whether your Search Console already has history or we’re starting from zero.

Signs that keyword research is due

Texts without effect

You’ve been publishing texts for months, but hardly anyone comes via Google.

Hundreds of products, no structure

Your shop has hundreds of products, and nobody ever decided which categories deserve their own page.

Relaunch without a plan

You’re planning a relaunch and don’t want to build the new page structure by gut feeling again.

Two pages, one term

Two of your pages rank for the same term – and neither of them well.

Tool export without priorities

You have a tool export with thousands of rows and no idea which ten of them matter.

FAQ on keyword research

Which tools do you use for keyword research?

Ahrefs and Semrush for keyword and competitor data, Google Search Console for your real search data. The tools deliver the material – the evaluation and assignment is mine. What counts are the criteria used for sorting out.

Do you also write the texts?

That’s a separate service. The research determines which page serves which term – the texts are written afterwards, by me as well if you wish.

Who owns the results?

You. All documents, data and access stay with you – even if we don’t continue working together.

Do you give a ranking guarantee?

No, and deliberately so: nobody controls Google’s results, a guarantee would be a lie. What I promise: traceable decisions and a reply within 24 hours on weekdays.
