WordPress SEO: optimization directly in your system
WordPress can rank. By itself, it does little to make it happen. WordPress SEO means: someone decides which pages belong in the index, what titles should say and what ballast the theme and plugins bring along – and implements it. That’s exactly what I do, directly in your system, instead of sending you a list.
Why WordPress SEO happens inside the system itself
An SEO plugin is installed, all lights are green – and still no rankings come. That’s the most common pattern in my audits: the theme brings its own SEO settings, so does the plugin, and nobody knows which one currently applies. Over the years the site grows: tag archives in the index, duplicate categories, posts fighting each other for the same rankings. A plugin provides fields – it doesn’t make decisions. That’s exactly where my work begins.
What I concretely implement in your WordPress
Controlling indexing
Take tag, author and attachment pages out of the index where they don’t belong. Resolve cannibalization between posts and pages so no two pages compete for the same keyword.
Titles & URL structure
Decide and enter titles and meta descriptions per page instead of leaving generated placeholders. Clean up category and URL structure, set redirects where old addresses lead nowhere.
Theme & plugin ballast
Measure page speed with PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix before I judge. Page builders often produce beautiful pages and a loading time worth talking about.
Internal linking & monitoring
Steer internal linking to the pages that are supposed to sell. Monitor impact via Google Search Console – a quarterly report on what has moved.
15 projects, recurring error patterns
“Across the roughly 15 projects I manage in parallel, WordPress is my main system – the error patterns repeat. In the Wix migration I supervised to WordPress, everything ultimately hinged on the redirect plan: every old URL needed a destination.”
— Viktor Pásztor, freelance SEO consultant
What belongs here – and what doesn’t
This page covers SEO in WordPress: what the system, your theme and your plugins cause and what can be fixed there directly. Crawling, status codes and Core Web Vitals independent of the CMS are the topic of technical SEO. Content reworking of individual pages is handled by on-page optimization. And if you’re not looking for a one-off measure but someone who stays on it: that’s what ongoing SEO support.
Concrete numbers, not “on request”.
Your effort depends on three things: the size of the installation, the state of theme and plugins, and whether it stays a one-off cleanup or continues on an ongoing basis. Cancellable monthly; content and access belongs to you.
Common mistakes in WordPress installations
Theme and plugin both in charge
Both bring their own SEO settings – nobody knows which currently applies.
Green lights, no rankings
A plugin checks whether a field is filled – not whether the right thing is in it.
Tag archives and duplicate categories in the index
Sites grown over years compete with themselves for the same rankings.
Page builder without a speed check
Beautiful pages, but nobody ever ran PageSpeed Insights or GTmetrix.
FAQ
Do you implement the changes in WordPress yourself?
Yes, I handle most of it directly in the system – my own website runs on WordPress with Bricks Builder. Only for server-level changes do I brief the developers on your side.
Which SEO plugin should I install?
This question decides less than you think. The common SEO plugins all provide the necessary fields; the difference is who fills them with what. I work with whatever is installed on your site.
Does this also work with my page builder?
Yes. The most important levers – indexing, titles, structure, linking – sit in WordPress itself, not in the builder. The builder mainly affects page speed and code quality; I measure both before judging.
Do you also supervise moving from another system to WordPress?
Yes – among others, I supervised a migration from Wix to WordPress. Supervision costs from €2,500; the critical part is almost always the redirect plan.
