Website relaunch support: rebuild without losing rankings
I supervise your website relaunch from the first analysis to handover – strategy, texts, web design and tech from one pair of hands. €100 per hour, ongoing support after go-live from €1,000 per month, and the initial consultation costs you nothing.
Eight building blocks, one contact person
The support covers eight building blocks whose scope we adjust per project: SEO analysis, keyword research and strategy, SEO texts, web design, technical implementation, off-page, programming and project management. The most common relaunch mistake is missing 301 redirects – which is why with me the redirect plan is fixed before go-live, not after.
What you get
Technically flawless website
No 404 errors, no indexing problems, no dead redirects.
Responsive, clean design
Tailored to your audience, code clean instead of bloated, no bought template.
Fast loading, accessibility built in
Not patched afterwards, but part of the project from the start.
Preserved rankings
A complete redirect plan ensures rankings and traffic survive the move.
“A relaunch is risky for our rankings, isn’t it?”
The objection is valid, and I won’t downplay the risk: a restructuring can cause temporary ranking fluctuations, and insufficiently tested tech can do real damage. That’s exactly why supervision by someone who does relaunches regularly pays off: a complete URL mapping with 301 redirects, tests before going live and monitoring in the weeks after keep the risk controllable. The alternative – leaving everything as it is – has a price too, by the way: an outdated, slow website loses rankings gradually, just without a fixed date.
“The most common mistake I see in relaunches is missing 301 redirects. The new site goes live, the old URLs disappear, and nobody defined which address points where. Google then only finds error pages – and rankings grown over years are gone in a few weeks.”
— Viktor Pásztor, freelance SEO consultant
Relaunch support is one of my project offers as a freelance SEO consultant. The technical part – redirects, indexing, loading times – is described in depth under technical SEO. What SEO work generally costs is on the page about SEO costs. And who’s behind the offer you can read about me. If you’re not moving an old site but want a website built, almost everything here applies just the same – only without the moving part.
Concrete numbers, not “on request”.
I bill by actual effort, without hidden surcharges – what’s in the offer is what’s on the invoice. You get the estimated scope in black and white after the free initial consultation.
- Number of pages: more pages mean more effort for texts, structure and the redirect plan.
- CMS: WordPress, Shopify, Shopware and TYPO3 come with different implementation paths.
- State of the existing website: lots of legacy issues mean more analysis and migration effort.
Signs that a relaunch is due
Outdated theme or site builder
Your website runs on an outdated system, and every change is a battle.
Structure is holding back rankings
You’ve been ranking poorly for years and suspect structure and tech are the real problem.
Slow or hard to use on mobile
Your site is slow or hard to use on a smartphone, even though most of your visitors come via mobile.
Relaunch postponed again and again
You know a relaunch is due, but you keep postponing it for fear of losing rankings.
FAQ on website relaunch support
Are rankings lost during a relaunch?
Short-term fluctuations are possible; permanent losses are avoidable with clean work. What’s decisive is a complete URL mapping with 301 redirects, thorough testing before go-live and monitoring after. Often rankings even rise after the relaunch, because technical legacy issues disappear.
When is a relaunch advisable?
When the tech is slowing you down: outdated theme or CMS, long loading times, poor mobile display, or a structure that no longer fits your current offer. Stagnating rankings despite good content are also a hint that the foundation is the problem.
Is a domain change possible as part of the relaunch?
Yes. A domain change follows the same rules as the relaunch itself: complete redirects from the old to the new domain, a move in Google Search Console and monitoring after. It increases the effort but is cleanly doable.
What does website relaunch support cost?
€100 per hour – the total scope depends on your project. After the free initial consultation you get an offer with an estimated number of hours. Ongoing support after go-live is available from €1,000 per month.
